After some persuading from my fellow beauty bloggers I recently took the plunge and decided to sign up for the Julep Maven subscription box.

Even though the style quiz puts me in the Classic With a Twist category I decided to order the Bombshell intro box.  The Bombshell starter box includes two nail polish colors: Daria, a dark slate grey crème, and Valerie, a teal with iridescent microglitter.

Julep - Bombshell Introductory Box

I was instantly drawn to Daria. I’m such a sucker for gray nail polishes. This one didn’t look like anything in my collection. It leans definitely toward blue but with slight green undertones. Very pretty.

I was a bit more hesitant about Valerie but the microglitter looks beautiful and since I wear a lot of teal shirts I thought that I would still be able to find clothes to match.

I haven’t tried it yet but I think Daria and Valerie would look very pretty together in a nail art design. Each nail polish is 0.27 fl oz and costs $14 ($11.20 Maven price).

The beauty product in this box was the Luxe Repair Skin Serum (0.6 fl oz, $28, $22.40 Maven price). It sounded just perfect for my dry winter skin.

“This rejuvenating serum delivers deep hydration and essential nutrients to help rebuild skin structure from the inside out—for a noticeable difference in the way your skin looks and feels. Designed for all skin types, Luxe Repair can be used as a daily treatment or moisturizer for face, hands, or body.”

I also received a little bonus gift – a one-step polish remover pad. This will be great for traveling.

All in all I’m very pleased with this introductory box. I love both nail polishes and am excited to try the serum. The total value of the box came in at just under $60 which is great considering that I only paid for shipping by using the code FREEBOX. If you like this box you should act fast because Julep’s starter boxes change frequently.
