Sephora by OPI – Keep Me On My Mistletoe

Although I usually gravitate toward neutral nail polish colors I believe that every girl needs a little sparkle in her life. Am I right?

Keep Me On My Mistletoe is a gold metallic nail polish with very fine gold glitter in it. The gold is on the lighter side, leaning toward white and less toward yellow. The color is stunning. It pops but isn’t too out there. It’s still neutral in a way.

The application was flawless. Sometimes I have problems with metallic and glitter polishes when I apply a second layer. The brush starts tugging at the first layer and picking up previously applied polish which results in unevenness in color and texture. This usually happens when I have too little polish on the brush and it starts to dry or when the first coat is still tacky. With Keep Me On My Mistletoe I didn’t have that problem at all. This nail polish dries really quickly without chipping, smudging or denting.

In the above picture I used three coats and I wasn’t quite able to achieve opacity. You can still see the white of my tips shine trough. I think next time I will try to use a white nail polish as a base to make the gold pop even more and achieve a more even color.

Overall I really love this nail polish. It reminds me so much of Christmas and I think it will be great for the Holiday season and other special occasions.

What do you think of gold glitter polishes?

    1. It’s my favorite sparkly nail polish. Looks like it’s still available on the Sephora website. And at 3 for $10 it’s a real steal.
