Sephora by OPI – Metro Chic

I think I mentioned more than a few times before that I love neutral nail polishes. They look classy, elegant, and put together. Metro Chic is another one of those colors. It’s described as an “opaque dark smoke with a hint of purple.” It comes across as a color that doesn’t quite know what it wants to be. For me, the base color reads as a medium to dark gray but depending on the light it looks more purple (natural light) or brown (inside lighting).

Sephora by OPI - Metro Chic

This was the last nail polish I added to my cart during my last Sephora order and I’m happy that I did. I can’t put into words how much I like this nail polish color. It goes well with my fair skin tone and is very versatile while still being interesting. I’m in love with it.

The application is similar to Frankly, I Don’t Give A-Dam. The first coat went on very blotchy but I achieved opacity with the second coat. Nevertheless, I applied a third coat to avoid any visible streaks when looking at my nails against the light. This helped tremendously and I achieved a perfectly even finish.

The brush is the same as the thin one in Frankly, I Don’t Give A-Dam although the other nail polishes I ordered by this line have a wider brush. Very curious. I can work with this smaller brush just fine. Now that I’ve had some practice I’m even getting better at not getting the polish all over my cuticles. Pat on the back.

All in all I can highly recommend this nail polish color to anyone that loves neutrals with a twist. I’m so happy I added it to my shopping cart.

What do you think of this color?
