Liebster Award

Liebster Award

I’m excited to announce that Abigail Robyn Brown has nominated me for the Liebster Award. Thank you very much, Abigail. Go check out her blog – it’s fabulous.

For all of you who don’t know what the Liebster Award is, it’s basically like a chain mail for bloggers but in a good way. It’s supposed to introduce you to up and coming blogs with less than 200 followers. When I started this blog less than a month ago I couldn’t have fathomed all the positive feedback I would be getting. It’s nice to know that people actually care about what I write.

The Rules

  1. Each nominee must link back to the person that nominated them.
  2. Answer the 10 questions which are given to you by the nominator.
  3. Nominate 10 other bloggers you like and who have less than 200 followers. (I used the number displayed in the WordPress Reader to make that determination. If you actually have more followers I apologize and I hope you don’t feel offended. It just means that I really like your blog.)
  4. Create 10 questions for your nominees to answer.
  5. Let them know that they have been nominated by going to their blog and notifying them.

The Questions I Was Asked

  1. What is your favourite quote?
I don’t have one. There are just too many good quotes.
  2. Who is your favourite author?
I love to read so this is a tough one. It would have to be a tie between Marion Zimmer Bradley and Stephen King.
  3. What is a song that has a lot of sentimental value for you?
“Nach Haus” (Home) from my favorite German band Silbermond. That song always makes me feel a little bit homesick.
  4. If you had to name one essential beauty product, what would it be?
    Mascara. Hands down.
  5. Do you prefer the country side or the city?
The city. I lived in the countryside growing up and while I enjoy the outdoors I like living close to entertainment, restaurants, stores, etc.
  6. What is the saddest film you have ever watched?
Schindler’s List. I turn into an emotional wreck watching that movie.
  7. If your house was on fire, what would be the three items you would save?
As an immigrant to the US I have to be pragmatic here, The first item would be the folder with my passport, visa and other immigration documents because it would be extremely difficult to replace those. Items number 2 and 3 would have to be my MacBook and a pair of earrings my boyfriend got me.
  8. What is your favourite season of the year and why?
Definitely spring. I love it when the temperatures are getting warmer but aren’t oppressively hot and the trees and flowers are starting to bloom.
  9. If you could do any job in the world, what would you choose?
I love my job as a computer programmer and the place I work at so I wouldn’t pick anything different per se. However, I think it would be cool to get an inside glimpse into one of the big tech companies, like Google, Amazon, or Apple. I wouldn’t want to work there forever though.
  10. Everyone has something that comforts them when they are ill, what is it that makes you feel better?
Chicken noodle soup and hot tea.

My 10 Nominees

My Questions For My Nominees

  1. If you could only wear one specific nail polish color for the rest of your life what would it be?
  2. It’s date night. What makeup do you wear?
  3. What are five beauty products you can’t live without?
  4. What type of jewelry do you prefer to wear: earrings, necklaces, rings, or bracelets?
  5. You have to give an important presentation at work. What do you do to boost your confidence?
  6. Would you rather live in an apartment/condo or in a house?
  7. Are you a cat or a dog person?
  8. What countries would you love to visit?
  9. Which do you prefer before going to sleep: reading a book or watching TV?
  10. If you could be a celebrity for one day who would you be?

Thanks again, Abigail, for nominating me. I’m looking forward to reading my nominees’ answers to my questions.

  1. thank you for the nomination! ♥
i prefer the city too, basically for the same reasons 😀
i would love to see what it’s really like to work for google, amazon or apple…
i’ll do a blog post with the award soon!
i just have to think about some questions of my own first 😀

    1. You’re welcome 🙂 . I have a friend who works for Amazon and although he can’t divulge much what he does talk about sounds like a great work environment.

    1. That’s ok. There is no obligation. I do really enjoy your blog and reading about your recent travels and your experience with different cultures so I would like to keep you on the list as long as you don’t mind.
